I’ve been wondering lately if I’m aging out of wearing certain things. Like, say, ruffly heart-print dresses. Well, clearly I made up my mind about this particular ruffly heart-print dress. It’s black and brown (traditional lawyer colors), so that’s my rationale for calling it mature. But if it were pink? I don’t think I can get away with that.
I also ordered a chambray shirt with a ruffle yoke recently. As cute as it is, I have to send it back. It legit looks like I’m wearing a shirt meant for a baby. I can barely sneak by wearing stuff from Forever 21 anymore, but Gymboree is a different story.
Am I over-thinking this? It’s just that I’ve seen women of a certain age (not old, but older than I) wearing things that made me make think “ummmm, should we, though?” and I don’t want to be one of those women one day! (This is your opportunity to tell me that I’m not over-thinking this, but that I absolutely can still wear this dress.)
