Whoa, is it that time again already?! Where did the month go? Oh, right, for me it went to buying a damn house and moving 6 years’ worth of stuff out of my apartment. You’d think with all that going on, I wouldn’t have a spare moment to shop. Yes, you would think that, wouldn’t you? But sometimes after a day full of #allofthestress, I’d treat myself to a big glass of wine and a mini shopping spree. It really did the trick. Sure, it’s more stuff to move, but with 100+ pairs of shoes already, what’s another 6? Wait, I acquired SIX pairs of shoes this month? Damn. See below for details on the damage:
My Budget
- ~$200 carried over from last month – I didn’t add any “starting” budget amount for the month since I knew I would be spending more than usual on stuff for the house.
- ~$35 sold old clothes
- ~$818 in blog income – This is very out of the ordinary for me, but it couldn’t have come at a better time! What I didn’t spend on clothes is going toward my dressing room in the new house. It’s far from complete yet, but you better believe it will get its own blog post next month.
= $1053 (a number you will probably never see here again)
What I Spent (starting top left)
- ~$91 on an orange dress, floral romper, gingham shorts, and embroidered top from Loft (total orig. $250 – I had 4 “cash cards” to redeem, plus a $40 rewards card!)
- ~$143 on 2 sets of bracelets, turquoise rings, low-heeled sandals, and cap-toe espadrilles from Nordstrom Rack (total retail $229)
- ~$109 on tuxedo stripe pants, bomber jacket, and gold bracelet (not pictured) from J. Crew (total orig. $248 – got it all during a “sale’s on sale” event)
- ~$136 on a striped clutch, tortoiseshell earrings, and brown sandals from Shopbop (total orig. $301 – another sale on sale – and by the way, I bought this stuff with my own money, not as part of my sponsorship…that stuff is below!)
- ~$60 on a striped hat, blue pants, and striped flats from Target
= $539 (total retail value $1088!)
This left me with more than $500 to put toward my dream closet, so all the pretty stuff I buy will have a pretty place to sleep at night. 🙂 You can see a tiny peek at how it’s coming together on Instagram.
