I love wearing contrasting colors. Blue/orange and purple/yellow combinations I can wear anytime, but red/green leaves me looking and feeling like a Christmas tree. Even when it’s more of a teal green. But you know when it’s perfectly acceptable to look and feel like a Christmas tree? At a Christmas party. Do not squander this short window of time when it is acceptable to wear red and green, folks!

I wore this to a holiday party at my friends’ house last weekend, and it didn’t really have a set dress code, so I mixed my fancy skirt with what is essentially just a structured t-shirt. The statement red shoes and mix of prints were my version of one of those tacky sweaters with 5 different themes going on. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good ugly Christmas sweater party, but given the option, I’ll always dress up!

And if you think this is fancy, just wait til this Saturday. It’s my black-tie office holiday party, and thanks to your votes, I’ll be wearing this Badgley Mischka sequin gown! I’ll put it up on the blog sometime next week, but you can see it in action this weekend if you follow me on Instagram. Anyone else going to a holiday party this weekend? Wearing anything awesome? Of course you are, you classy broad. Have fun.

It’s Christmas sweater time! Except this isn’t a sweater; it’s a jumper. Because it came from England. So Happy Christmas and cheerio, old chap. Fancy a spot of tea? Harry Potter. OK, that’s all I got. I really don’t care where my sweaters (or jumpers) come from as long as they’re cute and cozy. And if they’re subtly festive, well that’s a just a bonus. I made this one just a tad more Christmassy by pairing it with red, but I think it will be perfectly acceptable through February, maybe with a button-up shirt underneath for work, or with jeans and loafers for the weekend. There’s no shortage of sweaters this time of year, and sweaters are cheaper than cranking up the heat, so I say wear them every chance you get!

Have a great week! Cheers!
