I’m not sure how many striped shirts I have at this point, but I’m never going to have too many. Each one has a little something different, whether it’s the color combination, size of the stripes, shape of the shirt, or some unique element like leather sleeves or, you know, a bonus floral print. Oh, and some of my striped shirts are actually dresses, so that’s an even better reason to expand my collection! You can always find an excuse to buy another striped shirt if you believe in yourself and follow your dreams. How great is this one though? It also comes in a stripe/leopard combo. That’s right, I’m trying to suck you into my stripes addiction, and I won’t apologize for it!

Anybody else love the incredibly nerdy NPR show “A Way With Words”? Last week someone called in asking about the meaning/origin of the term “whistle britches.” As in: “There goes ol’ whistle britches over there.” (Clearly a very classy term of endearment.) One of the theories was that it referred to someone wearing corduroy pants because it makes a funny sound when you walk and your legs rub together. I don’t know if they ever decided on the origin for sure, but who cares? We totally need to bring whistle britches back. I’m counting on all you fellow corduroy-wearing nerds to help me.
