I’m not one to put together an outfit full of “basics.” But every once in a while, I’m lazy and don’t feel like coming up with something original. And then I end up liking my basic, boring outfit more than a lot of my more unique combinations. Then I have a brief “what am I doing with my life?!” moment. And then I talk myself off the ledge by remembering that clothes (and blogging about clothes) are not worth stressing about. If the clothes make me feel good/happy/confident/comfortable, I should wear them. And if I happen to have the opportunity to get get photos of those clothes, then I might blog them. (I’m putting this in writing so I can refer back to my own advice next time I think I’m having a ridiculous personal crisis over what to wear.)

Remember how just yesterday I was going all 90s on you? Well, as luck would have it, when I was out at dinner yesterday, I saw a girl who looked like she could be Phoebe in Friends. Not current Lisa Kudrow, but circa Season 1 Phoebe Buffay. She had crazy long blonde hair and was wearing a choker (is that a thing again?). Then I realized that this girl looked like she was barely 21. Which means that when Friends came out, she was…wait for it…not born. I mean, maybe (and that’s a big maybe) she could have been as old as 24. Which means at best, she was watching reruns in middle school. Either way, she’s young and I hate her. Anyway, here’s a sensible grownup outfit for old people.
