Remember when I had a revelation about this midi-maxi hemline? (If you don’t, it was here.) Lucky for me, I found another long-but-not-too-long skirt when I was shopping with my mom last weekend. Even better, it was on sale (and still is). It has a very casual weekend vibe, but I decided that a super modest and sophisticated turtleneck sweater would tone it down just enough to make it fit in at the office. As usual, I was right. 😉 I already have a couple more outfits planned with this skirt – with my striped button-up shirt from J. Crew, and with that vest you just saw in yesterday’s post!

To the great surprise of absolutely no one, last week I went in to Target for avocados and some frozen lunches and came out with a new wardrobe (and 2 bottles of wine). I did get avocados too though…for the record. Maybe the avocados were what inspired me to get this vest. Actually, I’ve been wanting to try out a long vest for a while now. I love wearing layers, but that’s hard to do in the summer without feeling overdressed. A long vest is like statement outerwear that doesn’t make you sweat like an immigrant at a Trump rally.

I have my eye on this dressier black one – just waiting for it to go on sale! I’m thinking either one will look great over some of my dresses to make them feel “new” when I wear them again. (I have no qualms about wearing my favorite things over and over, as long as I can make them feel special each time!)
