I’ve been meaning to get a thicker brown leather belt for a while now to mix up my never-ending parade of dresses and midi skirts. I ordered this one on sale at Madewell in the XS, but the smallest notch was still slightly too big for my waist. Yes, I know, this is why I don’t have many female friends.

Being the classy broad I am, I used scissors and blind ambition to poke an extra hole in the belt. I thought I put it in a good spot but it ended up being a little farther away from the last hole than I meant. Soooo let’s just say I was squeezing a little extra juice outta these lemons. But you know how the saying goes, when life hands you lemons…and you’re skinny…nobody cares about your “problems.”

I had zero intentions of taking photos of what I wore on Saturday morning/afternoon, but Kristin said she likes “casual Sarah” so I figured I should be true to my blog name and show you what I wear when I’m not trying so hard. I had to finish up some work for the end of the month over the weekend, but to make it still feel like a day off, Kristin and I set up shop at a cool new place in our neighborhood called Open Society. It has a hip but not too hip vibe, and they have some really unique breakfast goodies (I recommend the basil berry muffin) and coffee drinks with spices and other fancy things, but it doesn’t cost any more than Starbucks. I haven’t been for dinner/drinks yet, but I’ve heard good things!

Anyway, the point is that I did get dressed to leave the house but I didn’t put much thought into my “look” and this is what happened. Not too bad, right? Jeans and a t-shirt are a little more interesting when you have fun sneakers and a bright bag on hand. Maybe I should try not trying more often. Except when I try to not try, then I’m still trying and we’re right back to where we started.
