I’m all smiles because (1) it’s finally starting to feel like spring and (2) much more importantly, my Paris vacation is so so so so close! All my outfits and picked out and packed up, Funny Face is on in the background, and there are only, 17,012 things left on my to-do list at work before I leave. No big deal. I will get it all done, and if I don’t, I’ll flee the country.

This jacket and I go way back to my early blogging days (can you believe I’m approaching 6 years of putting photos of myself on the Internet like a weirdo?). In fact, this jacket got me featured in the April ’14 edition of Redbook Magazine and I remember thinking I was hot shit. When tens of people all over the country are flipping past a tiny picture of you while sitting in doctors’ waiting rooms, that’s when you know you’ve really made it.

My style has changed a lot since then (partially because my lifestyle has changed), and I’ve gotten rid of most of the clothes I had when I was in law school. But this jacket has stood the test of time for some reason. I’m not the sentimental type, so I can only assume it’s because I haven’t stained or shrunk it yet, and I still like it! It’s rare that all those things coincide, and who am I to argue with the fate of an olive green jacket?
