It makes me chuckle when I read a blogger’s glowing review of the world’s most wonderful, flattering, fabulous pants/jeans, because what’s perfect for some bodies will be horrendous on others, and vice versa.

So I’m not going to tell you I found the best pants ever, because inevitably, someone will get the same pants based on my advice and decide they’re the worst pants ever. But I will say that I freaking love these Everlane pants and I already ordered them in another color. If your hips are wide relative to your waist (I have about a 12″ difference) and it’s more in the width, not so much a big booty, these are worth a try if you want non-denim casual pants. They run big, but I got my usual size because I didn’t want them to be tight. (I’m also wearing the short length, and I’m 5’3″ for reference.)

While we’re on the subject, I just want to remind you ladies that if pants don’t look good on you, there’s something wrong with the pants, not your body. I mean, you’re smart – I know you know this. But a reminder never hurts.

Loafer Love

I don’t know exactly when it happened, but I’ve become a loafers person. The rest of my style hasn’t changed a whole lot – a couple years ago, I would have worn this same outfit from head to ankle, but with 3″ heels. Now I wear it with adorably nerdy penny loafers. I feel like classic menswear loafers with a feminine outfit is a very Parisian look, which is peut être why I’m drawn to it.

Or maybe it’s my bad back and the unstoppable train to old age and death we’re all on that makes me crave anything to make this painful thing called life more bearable.

Nah, probably just the cute French thing.
