My very first job was slinging yogurt at TCBY. I loved ice cream and froyo so I wanted to work there and get free treats. My mom insisted I would start to hate ice cream after being around it all the time. Boy, was she wrong. Not only did I always cash in my free product on each shift, but sometimes I went there with friends when I wasn’t working. I still always keep ice cream in the freezer and home, and getting serve-yourself froyo with a boatload of toppings is one of my favorite special occasion treats. (Sometimes the special occasion is just Sunday evening.)

I usually pick 2 or 3 different non-chocolate yogurt flavors, and then I pile on all the chocolate toppings. Cookie dough, peanut butter cups, and Oreos are a must. Kristin always gets a tiny dollop of vanilla with just rainbow sprinkles, and this is something I will never understand about her. Not quite grounds for divorce but still very concerning. Treat yo’self, woman!

What’s your go-to frozen dessert?

This was my 4th of July outfit. Pretty patriotic, right? 😉 Yeah, I’m not a big flag waver. I consider myself lucky to be an American, but not proud. The whole national pride thing has never made sense to me. I feel like pride requires some kind of effort, and it took zero effort for me to be American. I’m not proud of having blue eyes, so why be proud of where I happened to be born? The people who should be proud of being American are the ones that got off their asses and had the courage to leave their homes to come here. Welcome. I’m proud of you.

Anyway, before anyone gets in a tizzy and leaves me an angry comment, I’m not trying to tell anyone else not to be proud. This is just one perspective (and it’s the same perspective I had when Obama was president).

But this is a style blog, so lest I get too serious, let me steer us back in the right direction: This bag is adorable and is without a doubt the most impractical accessory I own. Like, unless you still have one of those tiny circa 2004 Nokias, you’re going to need a pocket or a second bag for your phone. But, again, adorable.
