No, Ms. Elephant, I’m not body shaming you. You’re beautiful just the way you are.

I know there are fashion/style bloggers who put on outfits just because they’ll look cool with a certain “shoot” location, but I pinky promise that’s not what’s going on here. I put on this bright yellow dress because (1) it’s adorable, obvs, and (2) I knew it was going to be hot as balls for Sunday Funday.

On this particular Sunday, we went out for lunch, then decided to hit up Newfields (the home of the Indy art museum, gardens, and other fun things) because we hadn’t been in awhile. Well, it turns out my brightly colored ensemble fit right in, because the whole campus was full of these plastic animal sculptures by the Italian art collective Cracking Art. And while I was mostly there to have a nice, relaxing weekend afternoon, the blogger in me couldn’t resist the photo op. 😉

These creatures will only be here one more week, so if you’re in the Indy area, I highly recommend a visit. I suppose it’s something kids would like (not my expertise), but it’s also perfect for any adults who appreciate whimsy.

Soooo…here’s a subtle and understated top I got recently. It didn’t look quite so outrageous in the photos online, and once it came in the mail and I tried it on, I realized it was ridiculous, so naturally I kept it.

Luckily, I had plans to go to a Janelle Monáe concert, and this top looks like it should go with the pants in her Pynk video. Just slightly less, you know, anatomical.

Now I just need to find at least 2 more appropriate occasions to wear a shirt that looks like it belongs in an upscale circus so I can prove I made the right decision.
