Since the beginning of the year, I’ve been getting together with other Indianapolis style bloggers once a month to eat, drink, and talk about important issues. You know…shoes, jewelry, wedding etiquette, FDA regulations. The usual.

This month we went to the Cake Bake Shop, which is one of the newest “it” places to be in Indianapolis. It’s pretty much a girly girl’s dream. I wouldn’t necessarily consider myself a girly girl in every way, but when it comes to fancy desserts, champagne, and Parisian ambiance, there’s no way around it. Hand me that “basic bitch” name tag and I’ll wear it with pride as I sip my bubbly and eat chocolate cake for dinner.

Here are a few more pictures from our meetup, including a shot of all the sugared-up style bloggers. You stay classy, Indianapolis.

Whenever I have something fun to do after work on a Friday evening, I try to come up with an all-purpose outfit that’s equal parts “I’m a super important lawyer” and “I’m a super cool urban 20-something.” I’m pretty sure calling myself “a super cool urban 20-something” demonstrates just how not super cool I am, but I want my outfit to convey it nonetheless.

Last Friday I went to my friend’s art show so my challenge was to mix professional with artsy. Button-up collared shirt: professional. Faux leather jacket: artsy. Black, white, and olive color scheme: professional. Drapey genie pants: artsy. How do I look? Super cool, right? I thought so.
