I didn’t check for sure, but there’s a 98% chance that the last time I wore this sweatshirt and did a blog post about it, I titled that post “Anchors Aweigh.” I can’t help myself; I’m the world’s biggest Gene Kelly fan. Bigger than Gene Kelly’s own children, probably. If you’re only familiar with Singin’ in the Rain, I highly recommend scheduling a Gene Kelly movie marathon at your earliest convenience. American in Paris is my absolute favorite. If you don’t watch that movie at least 5 times before you die, consider your life wasted. Anchors Aweigh is good, but not an absolute must unless you’re also a big Sinatra fan. If you want a sailor-centric musical, I would put On the Town at the top of the list, with It’s Always Fair Weather close behind. Oh, and Summer Stock is amazing. Not as well known as the others, but Gene does an awesome Stomp-esque dance solo waaaay before Stomp was ever a thing. Because he’s a genius. There you go. Your weekend is all planned out, and so is tomorrow’s outfit! You’re welcome.

It’s 2015. Why hasn’t someone figured out how to make a linen skirt that doesn’t wrinkle in 10 seconds? If someone can do that, I will totally donate $5 to their Kickstarter campaign. $10 if they throw in a tote bag (made of non-wrinkling linen, of course). In the meantime, I can live with a few wrinkles, because linen just says “summer” to me. Better on your skirt than on your face, right?

P.S. Who else loved A Wrinkle in Time as a kid?! Couldn’t even tell you what it was about now, I just know I was all about it in 5th grade.
