I was in the mood for a new fall lipstick the other day. Like a nice berry-ish color. I already have one, but it’s super intense and a little too dramatic for my Snow-White-meets-Cate-Blanchett complexion. I decided to try the Revlon Super Lustrous Shine Lipstick (in Plum Velour) hoping that a shiny formula would be more sheer. Well, it is, but it also has the staying power of a drunk Vegas marriage. All it takes is a couple sips of coffee or a particularly forceful whistle and this stuff is gone. Wah wah wahhhh. I guess my lipstick search isn’t over. I don’t really want to trash talk Revlon though – I have other Revlon lipsticks that I love. I just wouldn’t recommend the Super Lustrous Shine line.

In better news, this jacket is the perfect fall berry color, and it doesn’t wipe off. If anyone knows where I can get a lipstick that matches this jacket but looks good on pale people, holla atcha girl.

I tend to keep track of most of my style inspiration on Pinterest, and I noticed I pinned 2 or 3 outfits that mixed olive green and leopard. I got these olive wedges recently, so I figured I should listen to my subconscious. Because if I don’t listen to it, who will? I tried this outfit with a leather skirt at first, but the proportions just weren’t right. This shirt is too loose around my waist to look good tucked in. I always hate it when the pieces I put together don’t look how I imagined them, but I’m usually happier in the end if I do something simpler that I know will look good rather than wear the more daring/creative combo that doesn’t quite work. I think this ended up looking pretty classy. Who knows, maybe it’ll end up on someone else’s inspiration board.
