Remember how just yesterday I was going all 90s on you? Well, as luck would have it, when I was out at dinner yesterday, I saw a girl who looked like she could be Phoebe in Friends. Not current Lisa Kudrow, but circa Season 1 Phoebe Buffay. She had crazy long blonde hair and was wearing a choker (is that a thing again?). Then I realized that this girl looked like she was barely 21. Which means that when Friends came out, she was…wait for it…not born. I mean, maybe (and that’s a big maybe) she could have been as old as 24. Which means at best, she was watching reruns in middle school. Either way, she’s young and I hate her. Anyway, here’s a sensible grownup outfit for old people.

This dress is so delightfully 90s. I’m disguising it with my trendy ankle boots and structured blazer, but rest assured that underneath, this dress secretly belongs at an Alanis Morissette concert. This dress wants to curl up on a beanbag with a Capri Sun and watch Family Matters. This dress wants to wear slap bracelets and do the Macarena. You get the idea.

So isn’t it ironic that I’m wearing it in 2016? (No, Alanis. It isn’t.)
