Things I don’t need more of: stripes. Things I bought this month anyway: striped wedges. (Let’s be honest, the world of style blogging does not run on necessities.) Another non-necessity: a lilac bag, but at least I didn’t already have a bag this color.

Ponte pants are at least a little closer to a necessity. I’ve found they’re excellent at standing up to a big plate of Mexican food, which may or may not be precisely what I ate right after taking these photos!

Wanna know how sneaky I am? I wore this open-back dress to work! But I wore a white blazer over it, so from 9 to 6 I just looked like a summery professional. Then I threw my jacket in my car and walked around the corner to meet some of my fellow Indianapolis bloggers for drinks and Mexican food. I love feeling fabulous on a Tuesday, even if I have to keep it under wraps during business hours. At least my blogger buddies got to see this dress in its full glory, and they’re obviously the ones who appreciate it more 😉 By the way, shoutout to “Sarah #2” for taking these photos for me!

Here’s your real-life fashion tip for the day: next time you have fun after-work plans, don’t change your whole outfit, just hide your sexy dress under a jacket. What would you do without me??
