It’s the moooost wonderful tiiiiime of the year! The time for holiday parties, obvs. I’m currently recovering from the party we hosted at our house, so let’s look back on a time when I looked a bit less disheveled. Weekend before last was my firm’s annual black tie holiday party. It’s the event where lawyers let loose in the only way they know how: with an open bar and a craps table. It’s also the event where I hope one my bosses will get drunk and say/do something embarrassing that I can hold over their head later, but no such luck this year. Just fun, frivolity, and fancy dresses.

Dress (rent for $70) // Clutch // Bracelet

Oh, and did I mention the party had a Mardi Gras Masquerade theme? Never would have guessed I would go to 2 masquerade balls in one season! I swear this really is my real life, my life has just been very masqueradey lately.

If you read the title of this post and whispered “Gossip Girl” to yourself, do not feel embarrassed. I am no stranger to the guilty pleasure of shows meant for people younger and/or richer than I am. If you really think about it, it’s better to watch shows like that when you’re an adult and you can recognize what behavior is actually worth emulating and what behavior would probably result in incarceration or an incurable venereal disease. For example.

You’re also slightly less likely to feeling angry that the girl on the TV is wearing an outfit that cost more than your car, which you have to drive yourself. To Target. With your coupon app. I said slightly.
