For some reason I just had the urge to say “HAPPY FRIDAY, Y’ALL!” I don’t know what came over me. I mean, I know that’s a totally normal thing to say for a lot of people, but it would be weird and unnatural if it ever came out of my mouth. Despite being raised in North Carolina, I don’t say “y’all.” It’s just one of the many ways I rebel against my Southern upbringing. Being a vegetarian is another one – no BBQ for me, thanks.

Anyway, let’s start over.

Greetings, comrades, and a jolly good Friday to you! Nope, still weird. It’s official: I’ve forgotten how to speak to people.

When: Sunday before last // Weather: hot and breezy // Real life: taking in some local theater, then a dinner date

I see plenty of community theater here in Indianapolis, but it’s almost always because a friend is involved in the show. Luckily, I have mostly very talented friends. That’s actually part of my friend audition process. There’s also a grammar test, and you have to have a full conversation consisting only of quotes from Clueless.

Anyway, last weekend I saw a local production of Spring Awakening, and I didn’t know anyone in it. So for once, you know my review is totally unbiased. SO GOOD, you guys. My bar was high because I saw the original cast (including Lea Michele) on Broadway several years ago. There’s one more weekend, so if you’re in the area, I highly recommend checking it out (more info here).
