I took a bath yesterday, which I almost never do. I lit a candle, turned on some jazz, closed my eyes and didn’t look at a screen for half an hour. As I was lying there, I realized I hardly ever do nothing. It’s not that I feel stressed all the time or that my life is non-stop action; it’s just that even when I “relax,” I’m still doing something. When I watch TV, I’m also working or blogging. I go to yoga for the workout more than the zen, and during savasana, I think about what I’m going to have for dinner. My afternoon coffee breaks double as outfit photo shoot opportunities (see above).

But yesterday I did nothing for 30 minutes and it was lovely. So lovely, in fact, that as soon as my fingers turned pruney, I dried off and blogged about it, then made some to-do lists and meal prepped for the week. Namaste.

Phew, I wore (and blogged) this sweatshirt just in time! I know winter doesn’t technically begin for a few weeks, but once December hits, it’s hard to think of any season other than the Christmas season. Pass the eggnog.

I’m a big fan of “special” sweatshirts (you know, with some snazzy embellishments or French crap on them). Sometimes I make them extra special with fancy earrings. In case you’re thinking this is a look you can’t pull off, well…I guess you could be right. I mean, I don’t know most of you. BUT I still think you should try it. The secret ingredients are sass and confidence. And maybe eggnog.
