It takes a certain type of person to wear these pants. And that is: the type of person who puts on these pants. I’m really not that special. Anyone can wear bold statement pants. We can all be the bold type.

Speaking of The Bold Type, does anyone else watch that show? The first episode is absolutely wretched, so don’t judge it on that. Keep watching and it gets really good. A lot of it is very romanticized (didn’t we all imagine bouncing into a cool job in NYC at the ripe age of 23? or was that just me?) but between all the inexplicably good hair and clothes are some actual thought-provoking conversations between smart young women about feminism, careers, and racial privilege. I recommend! Put on your favorite pink pants and give it a watch.

On my trip to Seattle, I went to this random boutique on Bainbridge Island and saw a ridiculous banana print dress. I mean, who would buy something like that? Yeeaaahhhh… Someone who apparently has a thing for fruit prints lately (I was actually wearing a strawberry shirt when I bought this banana dress). Also someone who had plans to attend a friend’s surprise birthday brunch a few days later, and that friend just happens to love bananas.

Plus, the woman at the shop (Magnolias) was super cool and gave us a great recommendation for wine tasting and lunch down the street, both of which we did and both of which were A+. And the brand that makes this dress is based in Seattle, so basically I was just supporting the local economy. So I went in with zero reasons to buy a banana print, but it didn’t take long to come up with about eight. Oh yeah – potassium – that’s nine.
