Skirt Goals

When: last Friday of August // Weather: warm and sunny // Real life: work, then Michael Jackson cover band concert

I got this skirt because (1) I love yellow, (2) I love midi skirts, and (3) Nicole from Writes Like a Girl has this skirt and she’s a great style role model if there ever was one! I will probably never be as outgoing and genuinely positive as Nicole, but I can at least dress like her. She’s probably the kind of person that when you go shopping with her, she picks out all kinds of cool things for you to try on, and then she tells you enthusiastically how amazing you look. On the other hand, when you go shopping with me, I say “meh” to the first 5 things you pick out, get bored, then wander off to do my own thing. I’ll meet you at Starbucks in 45 minutes. (But Nicole, if we ever get to meet in person and go shopping, I promise I won’t abandon you.)

Souvenir

When: a recent Friday // Weather: warm and cloudy // Real life: work

My first international trip obviously wouldn’t have been complete without grabbing a souvenir or two. So what did I get to commemorate my trip to Canada? A jug of maple syrup? No. A hockey jersey? No. A tank top with a beaver on it? N…oh wait, yes, I did actually get that. But my favorite souvenir from my Toronto trip was this pair of Ray Ban Clubmaster sunglasses. I’ve been wanting a pair for awhile now, so I decided to take advantage of the exchange rate. 😉

Plus, something about being in a cool city in another country just made me feel fancy so I wanted fancy sunglasses. I let all my new Canadian friends try them on, and they looked good on everyone. So go get yo’self a pair! (Crossing a border to get them is not required, but is also fun.)
