When: Friday evening of vacation week // Weather: warm and beachy // Real life: haunted pirate cruise
Besides the outfit I wore on the drive to the beach, these were the only “real” clothes I wore all week on vacation. As much as I love my clothes and my vast lipstick collection and my hairdryer, I will happily give them a break to lie in the sand for a few days. But toward the end of our week of relaxation, the fam and I all put on our respective big boy and big girl pants and ventured to Beaufort for a historic haunted pirate cruise. Sound hokey? Well, it was. But what else would you expect? I don’t think they really offer sophisticated, educational haunted pirate cruises. The best part was after the sun had gone down and we saw someone across the sound in a canoe carrying a lantern. We assumed it was going to be part of the show. But it wasn’t. So I can only assume we witnessed a body dump. Hooray for adventures, I guess!
