When: Sept. 9 // Weather: 70s and sunny // Real life: wedding in North Carolina
And check out my hot wedding date!
One of my best childhood friends scheduled her wedding in North Carolina for the day before my family’s annual beach trip to the Outer Banks, which made for a very convenient and very fun vacation earlier this month. I had one day to get all gussied up, curl my hair, and dance the night away. Then I had a week to go sans makeup, lie in the sun, and do yoga next to the ocean. Yeah, I know. I’m jealous of me too.
I actually hadn’t been to a wedding in a while, because now I’m at the age where my friends are just getting divorced, and they don’t throw parties for that (yet). Do I sound cynical? Well I generally am, but I have zero doubts about the two lovely humans I saw get married on September 9th. As someone who has definitely found her person, I get the warm fuzzies when I can tell someone else has found theirs. I might not know my friend’s new husband super well, but I do know he’s a very lucky dude because my girl’s heart is true, and she’s a pal and confidante (did I mention we watched a lot of Golden Girls together?).
Now, on to the dress! I ordered 2 dresses, and the other one was purple jacquard and a little more fall-like. Pastel blue lace really doesn’t have much to do with September but, c’mon, for a Tar Heel wedding? I just had to do it. 🙂
