When: Dec. 10 // Weather: 30s // Real life: black tie office holiday party
Props to my stylist Krystal for giving me a “not trying too hard” updo.
It’s the moooost wonderful tiiiiime of the year! The time for holiday parties, obvs. I’m currently recovering from the party we hosted at our house, so let’s look back on a time when I looked a bit less disheveled. Weekend before last was my firm’s annual black tie holiday party. It’s the event where lawyers let loose in the only way they know how: with an open bar and a craps table. It’s also the event where I hope one my bosses will get drunk and say/do something embarrassing that I can hold over their head later, but no such luck this year. Just fun, frivolity, and fancy dresses.

Oh, and did I mention the party had a Mardi Gras Masquerade theme? Never would have guessed I would go to 2 masquerade balls in one season! I swear this really is my real life, my life has just been very masqueradey lately.
Sarah, this dress is so ridiculously stunning on you. I’ve never been to a masquerade ball but it sounds fun!
I have never been to a masquerade ball before! Kansas can’t have nice things, clearly. I want an excuse to wear a pretty dress like yours! You picked the most perfect dress and color for you!
