When: Sunday // Weather: 40s // Real life: lunch with friends, then a movie with some other friends (yes, I have multiple friends)
I think my favorite way to wear fancy, sparkly jewelry is with a really casual outfit. There’s something very Parisian about it, and what do basic American girls like almost as much as froyo and Taylor Swift? Paris.
But really, don’t you love the certain je ne sais quoi of a plain t-shirt and jeans with a pearl necklace, or a big chunky sweater with a gemstone or diamond ring? Not a bad idea for a Thanksgiving day outfit, now that I think about it! That’s an outfit that says “I’m ready for a very cozy but very special occasion.”
Speaking of Thanksgiving, I really truly hope you all have a lovely holiday filled with lots of food and very little talk about the election with your radical uncle.

That last part made me chuckle – may you also be able to at least pivot to talking about a basketball game or Dancing With the Stars, with your eccentric loved ones.

I’ve never commented before but just had to say how much I enjoy your blog! Your sense of humor appeals to me, along with your sense of style. But I really appreciate your politics & for being willing to voice what so many of us are feeling after the election. I’m fortunate that my Thanksgiving will be with a small group of family who feels as I do. The upcoming Christmas holidays will be a different story. I may have to find a way to do a little disappearing!:). Happy Thanksgiving to you & your family!
Thanks, Lee! Glad you decided to finally comment. I think it’s good to be around people with different views (sometimes), but it can be awkward when it’s your own family. Best of luck at Christmas!
