Grinch kabobs: green grape + banana slice + strawberry + mini marshmallow on a stick
Mini cheese balls based on this recipe, but I used shredded cheddar and gouda instead of blue cheese.
Bourbon cider punch (emphasis on bourbon…and delicious)
Last weekend we threw a holiday party and we called it “Christmas Extravaganza Festival Time” to properly express the classy and subdued nature of the event. This was our first Christmas and our first party in the new house, so there were decorations galore, lots of food and drinks, and I dressed up like a damn Christmas present. Good times were had by all, especially because we organized both a cookie exchange and a Dirty Santa gift exchange. Let’s just say we woke up Sunday in a sugar coma with inflatable anatomy in our living room. These photos were taken as we were getting ready for our first guests to arriveĀ – just a peek at some of the snacks we put together, like Grinch kabobs and mini cheese balls.
When I’m hosting, I tend to dress more casually because I’m so used to wearing PJs around my house that it feels weird to wear heels. I felt like this was equal parts festive, fancy, and comfy.
Merry Christmas, friends. Stop reading this and spend time with someone you love (pets totally count).
