If my Instagram feed is any indication, fall has arrived. Like, really arrived. The foliage here in central Indiana just exploded over the past few days and we’ve had beautiful weather to soak it all in. This outfit seemed to match the autumnal spirit that’s in the air, so I wore it twice last week. Yep, once to work on Tuesday, and again for dinner and hanging with friends on Saturday.
This is the perfect time for over-the-knee boots because they keep my legs warm in the pre-tights period. I have this rule that I don’t wear tights until the high temperature is 59 or below. Right now it might be in the 40s or 50s in the morning, but it warms up to the 70s by the afternoon. It’s not time for tights yet.
Just to be clear, this is only a Sarah rule, not some universal you’re-hopelessly-unfashionable-if-you-don’t-follow-it rule. You can wear tights whenever you want. Or never. If you want to follow all the official Sarah rules, you’ll also have to: learn the difference between lie and lay, never watch football, wash your hair every other day, never wear Uggs, refuse to listen to Florida Georgia Line, and take pictures of all your outfits and put them on the Internet. It’s a lot of work, and not everyone’s cut out for it.

Snap! I’m also wearing a red wrap dress on my blog today. No tights either, but it is summer here, so that would be weird.
Snap indeed! We are both rocking that red frock 🙂
I have a similar tights rule! Although, I don’t own any over the knee boots. I’m re-thinking this oversight.
You definitely should! I love them. Even flat ones make your legs look super long (although you probably don’t worry about that)!
