Often quick impulse buys don’t turn out well, but these jeans are the ultimate impulse buy success story. How impulse were they? I ordered them while sitting in the Charlotte airport during my layover on the way home from the beach. CLT gives you free wifi for 45 minutes, and I had exactly 45 minutes before my plane was due to start boarding. I was just killing time, probably catching up on what had been happening in the world while I was on vacation (Trump is still running? I need another margarita…), and I happened to see a Target ad that said clothing and accessories were all on sale, but it ended that night! Well, you know how much I love a challenge. I had just enough time to skim a few pages of stuff, spot these jeans and remember that I’ve been wanting a pair of distressed faded black skinny jeans.
No really, I have. This is not the same as every other time I say I’ve “been wanting” a really specific thing that I just saw 3 seconds ago. This time was legit. The jeans were on sale for $20, and I had a $20 Target gift card from that time I ordered furniture and they sent me a box full of wood and no hardware to put it together. Apology accepted, Target.
3, 2, 1…Submit Order. “Now boarding!”
As if all that isn’t magic enough, the cheap jeans I ordered online on a whim from the airport actually fit better than most of the jeans I already have. There’s only one way to celebrate such great luck: break in the jeans with brunch, a latte, and a nice walk. More good news: my free impulse jeans are stretchy.
