I swear I wasn’t trying to make a duck face. I was probably just talking to Kristin while she was taking my photos…because I’m smart like that.
My fellow Americans: I hope you all enjoyed a short work week last week. I too had a short work week, although I’m not sure I’d say I enjoyed it. Not only did I have Friday off, I took off Tuesday, too. On Tuesday I chaperoned the movers who loaded up all our furniture and took it to the new house. And all of last week was bookended by weekends full of cleaning out the old apartment. Now you can see why I’m not giving a lot of love to my short work week. You also can probably see why when I went to work on Wednesday, I was actually really happy to do my hair and put on heels and go sit in my office where I wasn’t surrounded by boxes. Before you ask, no, you will not be seeing my moving day “outfit” on the blog because even I don’t want to see that. I’ve been avoiding mirrors a lot lately. But not Wednesday. Wednesday, I looked pretty legit.
OK, enough complaining. I truly hope the rest of you had a chance to unwind and/or have some fun over the weekend. And I should mention that moving wasn’t quite as bad as I thought it would be. Hiring professional movers for the big stuff was pretty much the best decision I’ve ever made. And I got to eat a lot of yummy food (mainly out of necessity because the kitchen wasn’t quite usable yet). All in all, not the best 4th of July weekend I’ve ever had, but at least I didn’t blow off my hand with a firework or something. I’m nothing if not an optimist.
