When I was picking out my clothes for another day of interning at the federal courthouse, I thought to myself: “Are these pants too…much?” But then I thought: “Why not go for it? Who’s going to judge me? Besides, you know, all the judges.” I stuck with my usual rule of a single statement piece (the pants are the statement, in case that wasn’t clear) with everything else more neutral and traditional. I think I’m pulling it off.
In other news, I finally got nude patent pumps! How I’ve gone so long without them I don’t know. I planned on wearing them for a special occasion (law school prom!) in a couple weeks, but I thought it might be a good idea to break them in a little first. I took these photos at the end of the day, and you can see a little angry spot on my right foot…it looks worse than it felt. I’m ready to bust a few moves in them soon.

most the time you sit and they only see your top and blazer. Thus, going wild with pants, skirts or shoes is not so dangerous than doing so with tops
I absolutely adore these pants!!!!!!!!!!

Those pants are amazing! You are definitely pulling it off since the rest of the outfit is understated. It’s business appropriate but still sassy, which is my favorite kind of work outfit!
Also, I finally got my first pair of nude pumps a few months ago and I had the same thought – how did I go so long without them?! They literally go with everything.
Loving the pattern on those trousers, very retro chic
these pants are amazing!!!!! i instantly loved this outfit – the heels really hold it all together. maybe one day I’ll be bold enough to try a patterned pant like this.

Love these pants, and on clearance…you have me sold. Any comments about the sizing of them? Looks like they only have them in XS and Med now, what size did you go with and what size are you usually? I would guess I am a small but not so sure if they run a little big or small? Any input would be great thanks!
Sure thing! I got an XS. In regular pants I’m usually a 2. There’s a little extra room in these (more so in the waist than the hips because that’s how I’m built), but that’s how they’re supposed to fit so I’d say they’re TTS. The fabric doesn’t stretch so you definitely don’t want them to fit too snugly! Hope that helps!
