Left: How I first wore this dress last March for Barristers’ Ball.
Normal people go out and buy a new outfit for a special occasion like a wedding, a job interview, or…I don’t know…New Year’s Eve. But I am not normal people. I buy new outfits for random Tuesdays or for no reason at all, and I build a NYE outfit out of a bunch of old stuff. But hey, I already had this sequin dress, and how many opportunities will I have to wear it? I thought about getting some new sequins for NYE, but my worn-out, post-Christmas wallet looked at me pathetically and whispered “please…no.”
I guess I should thank my sad little wallet because I love this outfit! It was fun and the leather jacket was a good way to make the dress a little less fancy and more weather-appropriate. And in case you’re wondering, I celebrated responsibly, eating an amazing meal at The Northside Social, then having a couple drinks and playing board games with friends until midnight.

I love that you recycled your sequin dress! It’s so fabulous and just as perfect for NYE as it is for just Tuesday. =D
Happy 2014!

I love the pop of color with the plum handbag (and that you managed to achieve a similar effect with your shoes the first time around!)–the dress also looks gorgeous on you. 🙂

Don’t think I’m normal either as I tend not to bother buying new outfits for special occasions these days- I have plenty to choose from already!
I remember this dress from the ball, looks great with the pink!
Happy new year 🙂
Thanks, happy new year to you too!
Love the sequin dress! The thing with sequins unless they are falling off and patchy they always look brand new!
Good point! This must be a good quality dress because I think I’ve only seen 1 or 2 sequins fall off.
You are so awesome at effortlessly (or DOES it take effort!?) remixing items from your closet. I love that you added a pop of pink in both outfits 😉
Haha, sometimes it does take effort, but this one wasn’t too hard.
Looking sassy! LOVE! Happy New Year!
