Looking back at this outfit, it wasn’t my best work. I decided to remix the skirt into something more casual for school, and I was inspired by a look I pinned recently. But in the inspiration version, the skirt is shorter and not flared so I think it balances out the bulky sweater better. In my version, I think the full skirt and chunky knit are a little overwhelming on my frame. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.
A pro blogger would probably just skip out on posting these photos, but I made a commitment to this Take One, Pass it On challenge, and I’m going to stick to it! The silver lining: my new pink bag is freaking adorable and makes up for everything. So this is actually the best outfit ever.
Bag (on sale for $15) // Skirt // Boots (on sale in brown) // similar Sweater (on sale) // another similar Sweater
I think the outfit works and your bag is adorable indeed.
See? The bag tricked you. My plan worked!
I love that bag
Your honesty is refreshing! Love the bag & the skirt.
Thanks! It’s not “real life” if I’m not honest, right? 🙂
l love this one and was thinking about how could recreate it when i read your comments. my only change might have been to use creamy/taupey knee socks instead of grey. I love the softness of this outfit.
I like it!! Loving the new bag!

Well, I post the not so good outfits as well. It makes the nice ones look even nicer. Though, I don’t think this outfit is bad at all….
I learn so much from you. Thank you for talking about principles behind why some things work better than others. By the way I don’t think your frame looks overwhelmed. Question—what top would work with this skirt? Thank you!
Yay! It makes me happy that someone thinks my ramblings are helpful. As for what tops would look good…I loved how this skirt looked with the outfit I posted the day before this one (don’t know if you saw it…the post was called “Challenge Accepted”). I also think it would look great with a black sequin tee that I have for something dressier. I also think I’ll wear this skirt more often in the summer when I can wear it with lighter, thinner tops. So stay tuned! 🙂
