It’s day 3 of the Take One, Pass it On remix challenge, and I kind of boxed myself into a corner with day 2’s outfit. I had already remixed the shirt, and wearing my rain boots again would have been a little silly under a sunny sky. So that left me with the black shirtdress to wear for a brunch date on Saturday.

But being the savvy remixer I am, I decided to disguise the dress as a shirt by putting my new midi skirt over it. I’m pretty proud of myself for trying this skirt, you guys. I’ve avoided this length because I was afraid it would accentuate my lack of verticalness. But I think this one that hits just a couple inches below the knee works for me, especially with a little bit of a heel. Plus it has these awesomely huge pockets! What will I keep in the pockets? Probably nothing. But I like knowing they’re there in case I have two footlong sandwiches I don’t feel like carrying.

Dress // Skirt* (out of stock in pink but also comes in black) // Shoes // similar Jacket // similar Necklace // Sunglasses(on sale)

Don’t forget! You can join the Take One challenge anytime during the month of November and I’ll post a link to your blog in my weekly roundup!

  1. Pictures are so funny – you always look tall to me, and then you make comments about being short and it throws me off.
I’m jumping in with the challenge today and going to try to keep it up throughout November!

    1. Haha, yep, just 5’3″! I don’t try to do anything tricksy with the photos – I’ve just learned to dress my height well, I think. Plus it’s hard to tell someone’s height for sure when you’re not standing right next to them 🙂 I guess I just have a tall internet presence!

  2. I’m generally on the fence about midis, but I really like this one on you! The pockets are an interesting detail. I hope we’ll be seeing this skirt again in your next outfit (wink wink nudge nudge).

  3. I would have never thought of this! I was wondering what you passed on at first and I love it! Way to go! And thanks for the inspiration! I am joining in the challenge this month! Thanks.
