The other day, my blogger buddy AJ (we’re buddies, right AJ? No? I’m too clingy?) waxed poetic about how sometimes the Target limited edition designer collections trap you into impulse buys because you’re afraid everything will sell out in 5 minutes. I totally agree with her, and yet I bought this shirt from the Prabal Gurung collection as soon as Target opened and before I had my coffee.
Luckily, we’ve become fast friends (or am I only friends with this shirt in my head just like I am with AJ?). In fact, this is the third time I’ve worn this shirt in the past month (first here, then here). This time I let the shirt hang loose and topped it off with a lace-collar-effect necklace. Because what else does a lacy collared shirt need but another lace collar? Exactly.

Love this shirt. The ‘impulsive shopping’ is worth all the money 😉

That is entirely correct! But that’s retail in general. Ulta sends it to your inbox, Gap and old navy signs practically scream HURRY $20 denim-limited time only! SO we feel like we HAVE to buy! But I think your top works for you, so that makes it worth it.
I read Zola’s Au Bonheur des Dames back in university, and it really drove home the point that stores are doing everything they can to convince us to BUY BUY BUY. I’m totally guilty. This shirt was a great purchase though – you’ve already worn it a few ways, and I’ve no doubt you’ll come up with other looks. That necklace is adorable too. I haven’t yet tried a collar-type necklace. I’m loving the pants too – great colour. Have you paired them with plum? I spotted that somewhere else and thought it was surprisingly sharp. I don’t have burgundy pants, so figured I’d pass the idea along. 😀
Well-played with this impulse buy. I’m the exact opposite and always get burned, yet never learn my lesson. Overall, I’ve heard nothing but good things about this collaboration. Shame on me.
I think this shirt is still available online and in some stores! You should look for it…I can see you wearing this in your own unique way 🙂
Hahahahahaha. I cannot stop laughing. You’re my favorite imaginary friend I have.
HOORAY!!!!!!
I have the same shirt and I agree that it’s super versatile and totally worth it! I love it paired with the collar necklace! The only thing is that when I wear it untucked, it’s super long on me…but it looks like a good length on you!
I see a next generation Justice Ginsburg here… 🙂
