Man, it feels like so long since my last outfit post! Don’t lie…you’ve missed me. I know it. I really have been wearing clothes this week, I’ve just been taking some time off to relax on my Christmas vacation. But I thought I’d take a moment to show you what I wore on my travel day Monday. A long chambray and leggings is nothing crazy, but it was great for the plane and infinitely better looking than a velour sweatsuit.
The most exciting part of this outfit was the SHOES! I am a big Tory Burch fan, so when Megan of Chic for a Week offered to let me try a free rental, I obviously couldn’t refuse. If you’re familiar with Bag, Borrow or Steal or Rent the Runway, Chic for a Week is the same idea but for shoes! They have a small but growing selection of great designer shoes that you can wear for a week at a fraction of the cost of buying retail. My shoes arrived very quickly and came with a return UPS label already printed out (which is awesome, because shipping things is the worst). To learn more about Chic for a Week, see the FAQ page on their website. It’s a great idea if you have a special occasion coming up!
Here’s me posing in front of the tree in the lobby at Indianapolis International Airport on Christmas Eve before our flight.
…And here I am having a little holiday cocktail on our layover. What can I say? I’m festive.

Shoes: Tory Burch – rent here or buy here [Just a tip: they run a bit small, so I recommend ordering a half size up]
Hi Sarah! So glad to have stumbled upon your blog. Love the polka dot chambray, and those ballet flats are super cute! Hope you are enjoying the holidays!
Thanks for stopping by, Stephanie!
I love the easy airport look! I just could not rent shoes. It would remind me of bowling alley. Plus, you never know about other people’s feet! They are great flats though!
The shoes are thoroughly cleaned between rentals, if that helps convince you 🙂 Plus, these are a bit better looking than bowling shoes!
you have such an adorable blog! I’m so glad I found you!
Ha ha ha, welcome back…we missed you! 🙂 Great travelling outfit. I’m a huge fan of Tory Burch flats, and those are fabulous.

Sarah- I LOVE your blog! Just wondering where you found those adorable black leggings with the zippers above the feet. So cute!
Thanks! ~Kat
P.S. Thanks for writing about real clothes on a real person with a REAL budget! I’m sick of seeing clothing blogs that have a ridiculous and unattainable budget. Thanks for keeping it real and inspiring others that it is possible to do the same!
Thanks so much! I got the leggings at Macy’s a few months ago. The brand is called Petticoat Alley. I’m not sure whether they are still available.
What a great idea to rent fashion items before you buy. Brilliant. Great airplane travel comfort outfit. Aren’t those Tory Burch Carolines flats awesome. I have the same pair. http://www.flickr.com/photos/39715038@N00/8232803386/in/photostream
