Once upon a time, if someone told me I looked preppy, I would punch them in the face (in my mind). But when you go to law school, something weird happens. After a couple months, you start thinking things like, “Man, I wish I had a monogrammed ketchup bottle.” There’s so much prep around, it starts to rub off on you. In my first year of law school, the number of pairs of boat shoes in my closet went from 0 to 2. Lawyers aren’t known for being mathematicians, but I believe that is a one bajillion percent increase.
You can try to fight it, but sometimes it’s easier to just let yourself fall into it…and hope you land on a yacht in the Hamptons.

Very cute! Reading your blog is forcing me to take the time and make a bit more effort on my daily clothing choices. I’m guilty of being lazy in my work attire.
Fabulous! There’s nothing I love more than guilting people in to dressing better.
Haha well done ๐
If I am feeling sloppy for work I throw on a fedora and a scarf. straw fedora and silk scarf in summer, wool fedora and knit scarf when it’s colder. It fools people into believing you look put together. I love the mint with the plaid Sarah!
I do love accessories, although I’ve never worked anywhere where a fedora was appropriate. Plus I look weird in most hats.
“One bajillion percent increase” actually made me LOL. Well done, Sarah!
I love preppy (although I’m not a lawyer), and thus, I love this outfit! The colors are really pretty. And I’m so jealous that your weather allows for layering already. Have I already told you that like five times? Because I’ve thought that your last several blog posts. Sorry if I’m getting redundant, I just really want to see fall!
Glad you enjoyed my math ๐ And yes I believe you have mentioned your jealousy of my fall here in the midwest. But just wait a couple months when I’m out in the snow taking photos and you won’t feel so bad about your Texas weather! Just a hunch.
hahahaha yes, “one bajillion percent” sounds about right to me! And I would take “preppy” influences over the very classy “wearing pj’s to class and thinking it’s appropriate” look that students on my campus rock on the daily. No, I’m not kidding.
Also, is it weird that I actually kind of love your sweater? The color is wonderful and I like that you wore plaid underneath it!
Not weird at all! I love this sweater too. It was sort of an accident that I wore so many different shades of green at one time, but I decided I liked it.
This is adorable Sarah!! I love a great preppy vibe more than just about anything else.:)

Loving your want for a monogrammed ketchup bottle, lol! Now I know what to get my friends and family for Christmas. Who doesn’t want that??? I love your ensemble, so I am glad law school prepsters rubbed off on you:)
I love this! I’d wear it in a second!
Love your outfit!
