If you read my blog every day, you know I’m supposed to be in New York City right now for a fabulously nerdy fashion law conference. If you read literally any other news source, you know New York got hit with a beast of a snow storm yesterday. My Thursday morning flight got cancelled on Wednesday night, but then I got rebooked for Thursday afternoon. Not so bad. Had to cancel plans with friends, but I got some extra sleep, more time to pack, and did some work from home.

Around 1pm Thursday, an hour and half before I planned to leave for the airport, my rebooked flight got cancelled. (Cue dramatic fall to my knees while screaming “NOOOOO!”) I called the airline and searched all the websites I could think of, and the only option left would’ve involved getting to the airport at 4am and missing the first session of the conference. I was definitely excited for the trip, but it got to the point where the extra stress and extra effort was outweighing the few remaining benefits.

Sigh. So I cancelled my hotel, return flight, and conference registration, and then went out for a drink and Greek food. This outfit was going to be a great travel slash walking through snowy NYC ensemble, but it turned out to be a decent work from home slash eating consolation falafel ensemble instead.

  1. You want to be a successful blogger? Maybe try spellchecking FALAFEL before you post it in your BLOG TITLE

    1. WOW. Yes, felafel versus falafel will definitely be my downfall as a blogger. I thought it was falafel, but when I typed that, my spell check (that thing you told me to use, remember?) gave me the red squiggle line and told me it was spelled felafel. So I changed it. Your oddly aggressive comment prompted me to look into it further, and it appears both are correct but falafel is more common. I think I’m going to change it now because I do like the falafel version better and it was my instinct to begin with. But if you want to be a successful commenter, you should maybe try googling “falafel versus felafel” before you yell at someone over the internet.

  2. Ack! A fabulously nerdy fashion law conference sounds like a fabulously good time to me! I’m sorry that you had to miss out on it!

  3. Long time lurker, first(ish) time commenter. I just wanted to come use some CAPS LOCK to tell you I think you are STYLISH AND FUNNY. It’s about time people started using CAPS LOCK to be positive instead of jerky, don’t you think?
