On a rainy holiday, we did what absolutely everyone else was doing and went to the movies. We saw La La Land (again, along with ev.ery.one. else). I really liked it, but I didn’t love it. I’d consider myself a connoisseur of the old-school movie musical, so I probably critiqued it more than I would a normal movie. The high point: Emma Stone acted the shit outta that one song. The low point: I couldn’t hang with the planetarium scene. The mid point: I was pleasantly surprised by both leads’ dance skills overall, but Emma’s arms aren’t very graceful.

Speaking of graceful…

  1. OMG thank you for describing exactly the way I felt when I saw the movie! Although I thought City of Stars was a nice song it didn’t seem like there way really a break out song that defined the musical that made you want to go out and buy the soundtrack just so you could keep singing it. Also – I love Emma Stone but she has a very…distinctive…walk and mannerisms. Overall it was good but it didn’t blow me away the way I wanted it too…..
