When: Sunday (Funday!) // Weather: 80s and sunny // Real life: zoo trip, ice cream, and Target shopping
I’ve had this shirt for a long time (by my standards, anyway). I bought it at Club Monaco on a trip to NYC. I don’t remember exactly what year it was, but I’m pretty sure it was post-college and pre-law-school. So I’m going to guess I’ve had it for about 6 or 7 years. You might be wondering why I would hang on to a boring t-shirt when I normally subscribe to the “rotating closet” mentality. I can’t explain it exactly, but something about this t-shirt is so perfect.
Well, it has stripes, so…duh. But beyond that, it’s soft and thin and drapey and everything you could ever want in a t-shirt. It’s so soft and thin and drapey, in fact, that it feels like it could fall apart at any moment. I didn’t “break it in” to get it this way — it was like this from the beginning, which is probably why I paid $40 for a t-shirt when I was only making $9 an hour and had just spent 2 months’ pay on a trip to the Big Apple. The problem is that I’ve come to love this shirt so much that I’m afraid to wear it out. So I only wear it once or twice a year.
Welcome to 2016, perfect t-shirt. I hope you enjoyed your Sunday Funday. See you when Hillary’s president.
Tee (current version) // similar Skirt (on sale) // Hat // similar Bag // Sandals // similar Necklace // similar Sunglasses
What woman doesn’t have those few special items that only come out to play once or twice a year? I know I’ve got a few pieces that fit into that category.
Phew, glad it’s not just me!
Love this outfit! The bag adds a nice pop 🙂
