The last time I wore this dress, someone (a male someone) commented on Facebook that the dress would look great with heels. I was temporarily annoyed that a man was telling me what I should wear, and I thought about responding, but then I realized the comment was primarily an innocent compliment and a feminist rant wasn’t really necessary. Do you ladies see where I’m coming from, though? It might be unfair, but men don’t get to tell me to wear uncomfortable shoes. I will wear uncomfortable shoes, but no one gets to tell me to wear them unless that person has walked a mile in 3″ heels. It’s the principle of the thing.

As much as I love my heels, I love my flats just as much. I’m just an equal opportunity shoe lover. I probably will wear heels with this dress eventually, but when I do, it’ll be on my own terms. 😉 All this reminds me of the song “Put Yourself First” from the show Crazy Ex Girlfriend. Check out the video on YouTube …but only if you have a sense of humor.

  1. Lol! I love it with flats and I love the show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, although I have to say that when I saw the photo highlighting your lower half, I thought- hey, I bet this would look awesome with heels. maybe next time!

  2. Pretty dress and the flats are perfect.

I adore flats and almost wear them exclusively, especially to work (long commute). A male co-worker once commented how much nicer my outfit would be with heels. All bitchy and self-righteous, I turned on him, ‘really? Do you know how painful they can be???’ Yes, he replied, I wear them sometimes as a cross-dresser.

I had no good reply and we broke out laughing

    1. Hahaha! That was actually one reason I didn’t respond…just in case this guy does drag or something. It would ruin my whole argument!

  3. MORE IMPORTANTLY…is this my wall?! 😉 If so, it says it is honored to be on the best two Indy style blogs! Hah!
