I called this my butch outfit. Plaid flannel, jeans, sneakers…just give me some wrenches and hammers and set me in front of a football game and I’ll be right at home. OK, that’s not what I did while wearing this outfit. I went shopping and to the movies. But I did see the The Revenant, which is definitely no chick flick. Like, it is seriously INTENSE. Five people walked out of the theater at the showing I went to. I made it through by watching the corner of the screen during the most graphic bits and imagining Leonardo Dicaprio saying lines from Titanic. Also, I’m just super tough, as evidenced by my rugged flannel shirt from J. Crew Factory.
I’ve now seen 2 of the 8 best picture nominees…remember my goal?

i love these photos! go see The Big Short as a palate cleanser. It was super good. next on my list is Room and then maybe Spotlight if I have time. also, The Martian, while NOT a comedy (ahem, Golden Globes), is very funny and enjoyable. i didn’t love Mad Max as much as everyone else, but it’s a cool flick with some great feminist messaging, so I can’t argue with that.
