I pinned this pic of Blair from Atlantic-Pacific a year ago with a note to myself to wear my yellow jacket with stripes and faux leather, and I finally got around to doing it! I kept waiting for the intersection of the right occasion and the right weather, and it turns out it never came. Over the weekend I had the weather (cool but not cold, and sunny), but all I was doing was couch shopping. I just decided to go for it – sometimes I like to justify a slightly overdressed outfit by telling myself that strangers don’t know what my plans are. For all they know, I’m doing something really cool later. And I am, if you consider eating ice cream and watching Mindy Project reruns in my PJs cool.

I got a helluva lot of compliments from people in the furniture stores, even after I lost one of the buttons on my jacket (yup, look closer). Then after lunch, when Kristin was taking these photos, a woman asked me if I was a model. I don’t know this woman’s name, but I shall hereinafter refer to her as My New Best Friend.

Yup, this outfit was an all around success, so I’m glad I didn’t keep waiting for the “right” time to wear it. My pin of Blair seems to get repinned at least once a day, so let’s see if my version can become a viral sensation too 🙂 (ahem…help a girl out?)
