Girls are all about the blanket scarves these days. Most of the time they’re overkill (whose neck is that big?) and not even necessary (looking at you, Texas), but with the cold nights we’ve been having and the fact that my office apparently doesn’t turn on the heat until December, I’ve been using blanket scarves as they were meant to be used. Why not just wear a warm sweater and tights, you ask? Because it’s 75 degrees by the time I leave the office, that’s why. Don’t question me.

Of course, if you live in a warmer climate but you still want to partake in the decorative aspects of blanket scarves or scarves in general, be my guest. Just know that the Midwesterners and New Englanders will be silently judging you.

Speaking of New Englanders, I hope all you Gilmore Girls fans have heard the exciting news – it’s coming back! You can thank me, because I’m pretty sure I’m responsible for about 85% of views of the reruns on Netflix. As much as I love GG, one thing about that show has always bugged me (well, 2 if you count Dean). It’s set in Connecticut, but whenever the characters are supposed to dressed for winter, it becomes clear the show was filmed in California. None of these people know how to wear a scarf. Just look:

I mean really. What is this decorative wool dental floss you have casually slung around your neck? I could cut my blanket scarf into smaller scarves for every member of the Gilmore Girls cast, and they would still be more effective. Oh well, no one’s perfect (except Jess).

  1. Your scarf looks great! And…..I’m from the Midwest and actually did cut my blanket scarf in half and was still left with enough to take a nap with! Problem solved!!

  2. Yes yes yes to the GG scarf commentary! That and the fact that they’re always wearing their coats unbuttoned…??? Great coat choices, though.

Also, glad to see you are on the anti-Dean train. He was literally the worst.

  3. This post is flat-out awesome. I agree with you on all points. Did we just become best friends??

  4. Those shoes are so fabulous, and 100% just went on my Christmas list!! I’ve never watched GG, but everyone I know loves it and is beyond excited about the return so I think I’ll try it on Netflix!!
