Budgeting Bloggers: June

June Budget Breakdown

Whoa, is it that time again already?! Where did the month go? Oh, right, for me it went to buying a damn house and moving 6 years’ worth of stuff out of my apartment. You’d think with all that going on, I wouldn’t have a spare moment to shop. Yes, you would think that, wouldn’t you? But sometimes after a day full of #allofthestress, I’d treat myself to a big glass of wine and a mini shopping spree. It really did the trick. Sure, it’s more stuff to move, but with 100+ pairs of shoes already, what’s another 6? Wait, I acquired SIX pairs of shoes this month? Damn. See below for details on the damage:

My Budget

  •  ~$200 carried over from last month – I didn’t add any “starting” budget amount for the month since I knew I would be spending more than usual on stuff for the house.
  • ~$35 sold old clothes
  • ~$818 in blog income – This is very out of the ordinary for me, but it couldn’t have come at a better time! What I didn’t spend on clothes is going toward my dressing room in the new house. It’s far from complete yet, but you better believe it will get its own blog post next month.

= $1053 (a number you will probably never see here again)

What I Spent (starting top left)

       = $539 (total retail value $1088!)

This left me with more than $500 to put toward my dream closet, so all the pretty stuff I buy will have a pretty place to sleep at night. 🙂 You can see a tiny peek at how it’s coming together on Instagram.

  1. Congrats on buying the house and a record breaking month in blog income. Six pairs of shoes are totally worth that extra box you’ll have to carry into the new house.

  2. I love all the dresses! I’m super drawn to dresses this year and also bright colors. All of the ones you got are so cute!

  3. awesome on the new house – congratulations. Would love a blog post on what you did to increase your blog income this pas month.

  4. I converted my smallest bedroom in to a dressing room last year and it is my favorite room in the house! Nothing fancy, but it solved the problem of buying an older home with teensy weensy closets.

My favorite “trick” was hanging floor to ceiling shelves in the closet, then removing the door so I can line up all of my shoes in a tidy display. (Not 100 pairs, though – hopefully your dressing room has two closets!)
